they are one of the few cars/trucks i have ever encountered that can make so much power and not break while under the power that i know of IMPORT OR DOMESTIC. the only reason i know as much as i do about them know is because at this point i have been working almost exclusively on them for the past couple years. i always get hacked on by the other guy at the shop when i get excited about a mitsu coming in. lol

Most of it's the case design for the VR4's. NOBODY has stripped a gear (unless the case lets go) They are both Getrag 440 (5 speed 3S) / 446 (6 speed) series transmissions. The 440 is the N/m TQ rating for them. The supra transmissions do have better syncro's on 3rd and 4th than the VR4 does. They probably didn't have room in the VR4 trans because the center diff is driven off 3rd gear.

it's the tc that lets loose on the vr4 typically...the 6 speed guys do weld in a plate to keep the gears from exploding out the front when you get to crazy hp and slicks and there's a billet tc available.

calm down fella, if i said something that was incorrect then ok. i do not just spout out bs, it was incorrect i agree, but i wasn't just typing to type. what said is more of what i was referring to. which is why mitsu will still replace a TC on dsm's at dealer cost. because it was recalled, not that they go around telling everyone that
