Turbo cars are sometimes laggy if they aren't in the right gear and/or low rpm. Lag = not alot of hp until the rpm's come on up. Hold the brake, mash the gas and the load on the engine will make the turbo begin to spool up and create boost. Lift your foot off the brake and the car should pull much harder.

yes, for instance if I'm racing someone from a roll and I'm at 4500 rpm and go WOT it'll take a few seconds for the turbo to build pressure.

but if I modulate the brake pedal enough that the car won't move forward while going WOT the turbo will build boost up. Then on the 3rd honk, I simply let off the brake and sling shot out.
