Mellon Tuning EVO 11.2 @ 130 on street tires and 93 octane

well I didn't meet my 10.99 @ 130mph goal but I got half of it...first a few issues:

1) the slicks wouldn't bead up so I ran bald street tires...lots of spinning
2) the tactrix cable died the night before so I couldn't change the tune on the fly
3) the wb02 died on the way to the track

I just couldn't catch a break but I knew the tune that I last did was solid for 31-32psi so I decided to just go out and have some fun for now.

I made 4 passes and aside from the aborted one each of them were 130mph so I was really happy with that. Not bad for stock ecu/mas on 93 octane in a completely full weight daily driver. The car is exactly how I drive it to work every day!

1/4 11.28 @ 130.12 (man if I had the slicks!)

thanks, I have a little bigger turbo on the way dubbed the HTA 86, still a 35R but with a slightly bigger billet compressor wheel and at the same time I'll be changing the turbine AR from a restrictive .63 to a .82 to further improve the flow at high boost.

I thing... I would not change the 0.63 for now I would love to see the differences over the hta35r ... just for to have SOME REAL DATA.

well the old turbo is pretty much sold, a guy is sending a deposit today so I'll be doing the turbo swap and .82 at the same time.

Damn your spend a lot of money on that rig and still aint getting into the 10s Like the MPH better 60s and your there? I did a 101 in the 8th hope i can get 130 like that Good job

I had gateway tire re-mount the slicks again, two of them look good now and two are a bit sketchy. My dad said and old school trick is to put a metal band around the spot that isn't beading properly then air it up. Interesting...

What we did @ Mathis tire when I worked there and we couldn't get tires to bead up.. They had something like a ratchet strap that you put around the wheel and tighten it up without air in the tire and then air it up.. It would force the lip out instead of just airing up the tire..
