Mellon Tuning EVO 1/8th mile results 10/26/07 and 10/27/07

Turbomike and I took my EVO to Jackson Dragway for s and giggles, it's an 1/8th mile track out in the woods.

Traction was a bish but I did manage a 1.71 and 1.72 60' spinning a little through first gear.

The best E.T at Jackson Dragway was 7.67 @ 92mph which should equate to 11's at 115ish in the 1/4

*edit* the best E.T. at Gleason Dragway was 7.56 @ 93.94mph with a 1.65 60'

the g-tech pro was dead on with the e.t. but showed 1-2mph too fast and it showed the 60' just a hair slow.

the g-tech pro showed 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds.

I shot in car video and Mike shot from outside so when I get back home Sunday I'll start editing it. Once we get the videos done I'll move this to the video section of the forum.


we're going to the Gleason Tn track tonight which is also 1/8th mile, hopefully the traction will be better but then again, my tires are bald so that's probably the real problem. :3gears:

Ive got it at rufly 11.50-11.80 in the 1/4 pending how well the car runs on the big end.

so you finally got it to the track. thems some pretty quick numbers. why dont ya put some sticky tires on that som bitch??? i can find ya some extra rims for prolly $30 a peice.

this is a street car, I will not gut it or run drag radials on it...I like the fact that I can run the same times 24/7.

sure I could put some slicks on it and pick up a few tenths but that doesn't do me any good when I'm on the street and get caught not running them.

I feel the same way about nitrous...people constantly having problems spraying, bottle low, low bottle pressure, empty bottle, heater not working...blah blah blah

all the power in the world is useless if you aren't consistently at the top of your game.

quick update, I'm at the track in Gleason Tn 7:13pm..

first test n tune run here at the 1/8th mile with the tires at 25psi and 5700rpm 2-step:
1.9x bogged, the car dead hooked and nosed over.

2nd run raised the 2-step up to 6000rpm
1.65 60' chirping the tires
1/8th 7.56 @ 93.94mph

I have time to do more runs before the bracket racing begins but it's pointless...the fastest you can run in the street class is 8.20 lol so I'm going to write 8.20 on my window and sandbag or chase people down like nuts. I'll probably break out but it'll be fun anyway and might make for some good video.

Yall should go to Holly Springs Sunday and test it there. They are having a big drag radial shotout so the track will be well prepped/
