just finished another one, this car already had a decent tune by another well known tuner. It had some mild knock here and there but nothing horrible. We managed to find some more power with a better tune and cooler weather. It wasn't just gains in peak power, it's everywhere. I'm sure the car feels much faster.
![]() Mods are : EVO 8 , 93 octane, 22psi, filter, turbo back exhaust ![]() |

Wow!
Looks great Chris! And I can tell you from riding in this car it feels pretty damn good too! I remember when we first logged this car, it just took forever to rev thru 3rd gear for the logs (old tune)... Now its a piece of cake!

Just finished another tune, this time the mods are:
EVO 8, 91 octane, 21psi, HKS 264 cams. This car doesn't like boost or timing (terrible gas and hot climate) so we couldn't make the big gains but I was able to reduce the knock counts from 20 to 2 and pick up 15awhp and awtq so it's much more consistent between runs and safe to run hard. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

just finished another one: the owner kept telling me how amazed he was with the way the car felt vs before but alot of people say that so I didn't think that much about it.
I ran the previous tune logs vs new against DLL dyno to see what the gains were and I just about fell out of my chair. I quickly ran back to see what the previous tune looked like... no wonder. The file name said "stock rom" but it sure as hell wasn't. The fuel looked fine but the timing and mivec maps were terrible...much worse than stock. This car is an EVO9 RS with a 5 speed and I don't have a DLL def for that car so I ran it through as a EVO8 5-speed, I figure the numbers are a little high but what's important is the difference, both logs were 3rd gear pulls. mods: 93 oct 23psi evogreen WGA cosworth 272 fic 750cc mbc filter tbe pipes fmic 02 forge bov fp ported mani wb02 ![]() |
