I just wanted to share some statistics in case anyone was curious how things are going.
I started the site Dec 4th 2006 which is just a little over a year ago and my friends at streetfire did me a solid by featuring one of our RVF exclusive videos which really gave us a solid grand opening hence the massive numbers the first several months. After that we were on our own and growth slowed but as we created and added new content it's been improving ever since. We're seeing on average about 85 new members registered a month in our last few months as we approach 2000 members. This is the amount of unique visitors per month. in the old days everyone bragged bout how many "hits" their website got and so if I went to the website 40 times a month that's 40 "hits" so you can see where the numbers can get really high. Every time a page is loaded that's a hit, if you refresh the page it's another hit etc....
Unique visitors means each number is a different person visiting the site. So I could view the site 20 times a month but it only counts me 1 time. so, last month we had 26,488 different people visit the forum but because the pages were reloaded multiple times by each the "hits" were 120,422 including reloads.
