Gm terminology = bolt ons are 'required' before you go internal with the motor.. Its a step by step process.. You wouldnt throw a cam in there w/o putting headers/intake on first because you wont see much gain if any at all (depending on the size of the cam of course).. Reason being is airflow has to be increased in certain areas before you can actually get the power you want out of a cam..

It would be like Mellon bolting on a 35r and not getting larger injectors/pump or just using the stock air box/exhaust.. The mods have to work together to actually get the achieved power..
